There are many things done to ensure air safety
Airplanes fly very high at amazing speeds. Some weather conditions or a small problem could lead to a major accident. There are many things done to ensure air safety.
After an airplane flies more than a certain number of hours it goes to the maintenance area for inspection. Before a flight mechanics make an inspection, and a pilot checks the tires and the engine.

The airplane takes orders from the air traffic controllers in the control tower while it is flying in the sky along the flight path. The control center collects information from the flight path radar and the weather radar. They tell the pilot the information, which makes the plane fly safely. The pilot receives exact instructions to know how he should fly the plane.
In addition, there is equipment which transmits radio waves to the airplane which indicates the flight path. There are antennas set up all around the country to carry important information and the instructions of the air traffic controllers in order to ensure a safe flight.
Airplanes can only fly safely with the equipment and the support, such as the instructions of the air traffic controllers and the safety information from the control center and the airport.
Satellite
Planes will be able to fly safer by communicating to the control centre with satellite communications and digital technology even on the sea where radio wave does not reach.
For that, Japan launched the Multi-Functional Transport Satellites, MTSAT-1R in 2005 and MTSAT-2 in 2006.
